Strong Leading Ladies That I Look Up To

Nowadays, there aren’t many boss lady women that young girls like me can look up to. As sad as that is to say, there are several movie and TV show characters that make up for it. These ladies are confident, strong, and though they may be sassy sometimes, they have good souls deep down.

  1. Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl)

What I love about Blair, besides her style, boyfriend, and Dorota, is that she doesn’t let anyone and I mean anyone, bring her down. She doesn’t take no for an answer and she keeps persisting until she gets what she wants. That’s something I think I really need to work on. I’m the type of person who lets what other people say get to me and that’s where having such a strong role model, like Blair comes in. She reminds me that I shouldn’t let others determine my thinking or my future and I love her for that.

2. Cher Horowitz (Clueless)

The next inspiring lady is the one and only, Cher Horowitz. I look up to Cher because she lives in her own little world, which I adore. She sets her own fashion trends, hangs out with the people she wants to, and doesn’t change herself to be like everyone else. If she isn’t okay with something, like a grade, she changes it. But not the way most people would. She does her own thing and I really admire that about her.

3. Elle Woods (Legally Blonde)

Elle. Woods. She is iconic and words can’t describe how much I love her. No matter how mean or cruel people are to her, she keeps going and doesn’t stop reaching her goal. And through all of the tough times she goes through, she stays kind, she stays herself, and she stays determined. Elle is an amazing role model and I strive to have her attitude every day.

4. Sharpay Evans (High School Musical)

When I decided to write this post, there was no doubt in my mind that I had to add good old, Sharpay. My entire life I’ve looked up to her. For the wrong reasons when I was younger (I was a 6 year old version of her LOL), but for the right reasons now. I know everyone says she’s the mean girl but I admire her and I’ll tell you why. Similar to the other ladies I’ve talked about, she follows her dreams and stays true to herself no matter what anyone says. Drama club is her passion and she works so hard at it. She has a very unique style compared to everyone else but doesn’t try to change herself to fit in. She stays “Sharpay” and has no doubts about it.

5. Holly Golightly (Breakfast at Tiffany’s)

If you know me, you had to see this coming. Breakfast at Tiffany’s is my favorite movie ever. It relaxes me when I’m stressed and takes me to another world. Holly Golightly is my biggest role model because unlike the others (who I still adore), she knows she’s not perfect and struggles to figure out who she is. She is very relatable and down-to-earth and I love her so much.

So, those are the leading ladies that inspire me so much! They are each unique and special in their own ways and I admire them all. Thank you for reading, and I will talk to you all soon! xoxo

  1. I love this post so much, such a great list! Elle Woods has always been one of my role models, especially through grad school! I’m thinking of doing a similar post but with Disney heroines- it’s always nice to see women supporting and looking up to each other 😌
